Creator / Seller Agreement

  • Last updated: November 3, 2026
  • Version 1.0
  • Operator: TheMeanOne Developments

The short version

  • You publish on Oddshelf, you set the price, and Oddshelf takes 0%. Buyers pay you directly through your PayPal.
  • Because buyers pay you, you are the seller: you handle your own taxes, legally required refunds and customer obligations. Oddshelf is the platform.
  • You must own or have the rights to everything you upload and never upload malware. Hand-made and AI-built work are welcome on the same terms; showing the Made with AI badge is optional.
  • Mods are always free. Players can send you optional tips, which reach you the same way sales do (0% cut). You must follow each game maker's rules for mods.
  • Buyers keep what they paid for. You cannot delete Vault files someone bought; you can archive them so new buyers do not see them.
  • Paid plans (Pro $5, Pro+ $12 per month) and Boosts ($5 to $25) are optional and sold through Lemon Squeezy. Plans renew monthly until you cancel.
  • Assets use the licence you pick. The default Oddshelf Standard Asset Licence (full text in section 12) allows unlimited personal and commercial use but no resale of the raw files.

This summary is for convenience. The full agreement below is what applies, together with the Terms of Service.

1. Scope and acceptance

1.1 This Creator / Seller Agreement ("Agreement") is between you, the person or business publishing Products on Oddshelf ("Creator", "you"), and TheMeanOne Developments, the United States business that operates Oddshelf ("Oddshelf", "we").

1.2 This Agreement adds to the Terms of Service, which also apply to you. Capitalised terms have the meanings given in the Terms. Where this Agreement and the Terms conflict on a matter concerning Creators, this Agreement applies.

1.3 You accept this Agreement when you publish your first Listing, whether free or paid. If you publish on behalf of a company or team, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it, and "you" includes that company or team.

1.4 You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to sell paid Products or receive payments. Creators aged 13 to 17 may publish free Products only with a parent or guardian's consent, and a parent or guardian must accept this Agreement for them.

2. Our relationship

2.1 You are the seller. Oddshelf provides a platform on which you list Products and buyers pay you directly through PayPal. You are the seller of record for every Product you sell. The contract of sale and the licence for each Product are between you and the buyer. Oddshelf acts as an intermediary and hosting provider.

2.2 Independent parties. Nothing in this Agreement makes you our employee, agent, partner or joint venturer. You may not make promises on Oddshelf's behalf.

2.3 Non-exclusive. You are free to sell your Products anywhere else, at any price, at the same time.

2.4 Trader status. Where the law requires (for example under EU and UK consumer law), you must tell us accurately whether you sell as a trader (a business) or as a private individual, and keep it up to date. If you are a trader, you must provide the trader information the law requires us to collect or display, and you are responsible for complying with consumer law that applies to traders.

3. Prices, payments and 0% commission

3.1 You set the price. Each Product can be free, a fixed price, or pay-what-you-want with a minimum you choose. You may change prices and run discounts at any time; changes apply to future sales only.

3.2 0% commission. Oddshelf takes no cut of your sales. Buyers pay you directly through your PayPal account. Oddshelf never holds your sales money.

3.3 PayPal. To sell paid Products you must link a valid PayPal account by entering your PayPal payout email. Your relationship with PayPal, including its fees, holds, reserves, disputes, limits and account rules, is governed by PayPal's terms. Oddshelf is not responsible for PayPal's decisions or for funds held or reversed by PayPal.

3.4 Accuracy. You are responsible for making sure your PayPal email is correct. Oddshelf is not liable for payments sent to a wrong address you entered.

3.5 Honest pricing. Do not show fake "was" prices, countdown timers that reset, hidden fees, or misleading discounts. Pay-what-you-want minimums must be shown clearly.

3.6 Mods are always free; tips are optional. A mod (a Product of the kind "mod") can never have a price, a pay-what-you-want minimum, a sale, a bundle or Steam keys, and must not lead to a paywall elsewhere. You may let players send you tips. Tips are voluntary gifts that unlock nothing; they are paid to you through the same payment path as sales, Oddshelf takes 0%, and they appear in your stats separately from sales. You can switch tips on or off for each mod.

4. Taxes

4.1 Because you are the seller, you are solely responsible for determining, collecting, reporting and paying all taxes on your sales, including income tax, sales tax, VAT, GST and digital services taxes, and for issuing invoices where the law requires.

4.2 Oddshelf does not calculate, collect or remit tax on Product sales, and does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified adviser about your obligations.

4.3 This section does not apply to Oddshelf's own plans and Boosts, for which Lemon Squeezy, as merchant of record, handles sales tax and VAT (section 9).

5. Your obligations to buyers

5.1 Accurate Listings. Your Listing must accurately describe the Product: what it is, what it does, platforms and requirements, file formats, content warnings, licence and price. Screenshots and videos must represent the actual Product.

5.2 Working files. You must deliver what you described. Files must download, open and work as described on the stated platforms.

5.3 Refunds. You are responsible for refunds that the law requires (for example for faulty or not-as-described digital content under EU or UK law), and for any refund you promise on your Listing. You agree to handle refund requests promptly and in good faith, and to refund through PayPal where required. See the Refunds Policy.

5.4 Support. You must give buyers a reasonable way to contact you about your paid Products (for example through comments, your profile, or an email address on your Listing) and respond within a reasonable time.

5.5 Buyer data. Information you receive about buyers through PayPal or Oddshelf may only be used to complete the sale, provide support, meet legal obligations and deliver updates to the Product. You must not add buyers to marketing lists without their consent, sell their data, or use it to harass them. You are an independent controller of that data and must comply with applicable privacy law.

5.6 In-game data. If your game or tool collects personal data (for example accounts, leaderboards or analytics), you must tell players in a privacy notice, comply with applicable law, and never collect data from children in breach of law (including the US COPPA). Your game must not try to access Oddshelf accounts or break out of the browser sandbox.

5.7 Updates. You may update your Products. Updates should not remove features buyers paid for without good reason, and you should describe significant changes in a changelog or devlog.

6. Content rules and your promises

6.1 You promise that for every Product and Listing:

6.2 Game content ratings. You must disclose violence, sexual content, strong language, gambling-like mechanics (such as loot boxes) and flashing imagery in your Listing. Real-money gambling is prohibited.

6.3 Scanning. You agree that we may scan files you upload or link for malware, including by sending files or file hashes to VirusTotal (being introduced), and may block, quarantine or remove files that are flagged, pending review.

7. AI and the Made with AI badge

7.1 Every maker is equal. We support traditional Creators and Creators who use AI equally, on the same terms.

7.2 The badge is optional. You may switch on the Made with AI badge and add a note about how you used AI. Players may filter by the badge; it does not otherwise change how a Listing is ranked or shown. You are never required to show it.

7.3 Statements must be true. Whatever you choose to say about how your Product was made must be accurate. Making false claims (for example calling AI-generated work entirely hand-made) is a misleading Listing under section 5.

7.4 Legal disclosures. Where a law requires AI-generated content to be disclosed (for example realistic synthetic images, video or voices of people), you are responsible for making that disclosure in your Product or Listing.

7.5 Rights in AI inputs and outputs. You must have the rights to the inputs you used (including prompts, reference images and training data you supplied) and to the outputs, to the extent the law requires. You must not use AI to copy or imitate other people's protected work, distinctive characters or trademarks, or anyone's likeness or voice without their permission.

7.6 You are responsible for complying with any AI tool's terms that restrict commercial use of its outputs.

8. Hosting: Oddshelf Vault and External Links

8.1 Oddshelf Vault. You can host Product files on Oddshelf Vault within your plan's storage limit. Vault is for Product files, covers and Listing media, not general-purpose storage.

8.2 External Links. You can instead link to files on your own hosting, such as GitHub Releases, MediaFire, Google Drive, MEGA, Dropbox or a direct link. You are responsible for keeping External Links working, for complying with those hosts' terms, and for making sure the linked file is the file described. A linked file must not be swapped for different content, and must not lead to malware, ads that pose as download buttons, or a paywall elsewhere for a Product sold on Oddshelf.

8.3 Notice. We may mark a Listing as having a broken link and notify buyers if an External Link stops working.

8.4 Browser games. Browser games are served in a sandbox on a separate domain. Multiplayer games may use Oddshelf Rooms; messages are relayed live and not stored. You must not use Rooms to collect personal data, transmit unlawful content, or relay traffic unrelated to your game, and we may apply fair-use limits.

8.5 Mod hosting. Mod files and "install these first" links must point to GitHub, MediaFire, Dropbox or Google Drive (https), or be uploaded to Oddshelf Vault if you are on a paid plan (Pro or Pro+). Other hosts are refused for mods. Tools in the staff-checked Mod tools & loaders directory may link to their own official sites.

9. Creator plans and Boosts

Plans
PlanPriceStorageFeatures
Free$02 GBPublish free and paid Products; External Links
Pro$5 / month50 GBStats, page themes, Pro badge, 1 Boost per month
Pro+$12 / month250 GBEverything in Pro, 3 Boosts per month, priority support
Boost$5 to $25 each-Paid front-page placement, labelled as promoted

9.1 Merchant of record. Plans and Boosts are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record, processes payment and handles sales tax and VAT. Lemon Squeezy's terms apply to those purchases in addition to this Agreement.

9.2 Auto-renewal and cancellation. Plans renew automatically each month at the then-current price until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and you keep your plan's features until then. Included monthly Boosts do not roll over and end with the plan.

9.3 Price changes. We will give at least 30 days' notice of a price increase, which applies from your next renewal after the notice period. You can cancel before then.

9.4 Storage after a plan ends. If your plan ends and your stored files exceed the Free limit (2 GB):

  1. all your files stay available for 30 days;
  2. after 30 days, files beyond the limit are hidden, not deleted, until you upgrade or remove files to get under the limit;
  3. files that buyers have paid for always stay available to those buyers, whatever your storage use.

9.5 Boosts. A Boost places a Product in a promoted slot on the front page for the period shown at purchase. Boosted placements are labelled as promoted. Boosts do not guarantee any number of views or sales. We may refuse or end a Boost for a Product that breaks our rules; if we end it for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund or re-credit the unused part.

9.6 Refunds of plans and Boosts are covered in the Refunds Policy.

9.7 Stats. Pro stats are built from aggregate counts in Oddshelf's own records (such as downloads, claims and sales). They do not use third-party analytics or tracking cookies.

10. The Library guarantee and archiving

10.1 Buyers keep what they bought. Every Product bought or claimed goes into the buyer's Library permanently. You agree that buyers keep access to the Oddshelf Vault files that were available when they bought or claimed the Product (and to any later versions you make available to owners), even if you delist or delete the Product or close your Account.

10.2 No deleting bought files. You cannot delete Vault files that someone has bought or claimed. You can archive them, which hides them from new buyers but keeps them available to existing owners. Files nobody has bought or claimed can be deleted.

10.3 Ongoing licence. You grant Oddshelf the right to keep hosting and delivering those files to entitled buyers for as long as those buyers have Accounts, and this right survives termination of this Agreement.

10.4 External Links. For files on External Links, Oddshelf cannot guarantee availability. We keep the link in buyers' Libraries and will notify buyers if it breaks. We encourage you to keep External Links working for buyers even after you stop selling.

10.5 Legal removal. If a file must be removed for legal reasons (court order, valid copyright takedown, malware or illegal content), we will remove it and tell affected buyers why. If the removal results from your breach of this Agreement, you must refund affected buyers where the law requires, and we may help them obtain that refund.

11. Licence you grant Oddshelf

11.1 You keep ownership of your Products and Listings. You grant Oddshelf a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable (only to our service providers) licence to host, store, copy, scan, cache, transmit, display, run (for browser games), reformat and distribute your Products and Listing media in order to: operate the Service; deliver Products to buyers and claimers; and promote the Service and your Products, including on social media, newsletters and the blog, using your name, logo, covers, screenshots, trailers and short excerpts.

11.2 You can ask us to stop using a specific item in future promotions by emailing [email protected]; we will not have to remove promotions already published.

11.3 We will not sell your Products ourselves, give them away outside the features you choose, or use them to train AI models.

12. The Oddshelf Standard Asset Licence

The Oddshelf Standard Asset Licence is the default licence for asset Listings. You may choose a different licence on the Listing (for example CC0, CC BY 4.0, or your own custom licence), in which case that licence applies instead and you are responsible for its terms. If you choose the Standard Asset Licence, you grant it to every buyer or claimer on the following terms.

Oddshelf Standard Asset Licence, Version 1.0

1. Parties. This licence is granted by the creator of the asset ("Licensor") to the person or entity that buys or claims the asset on Oddshelf ("Licensee"). If the Licensee is an organisation, it covers its employees and contractors working on its projects.

2. Licence grant. The Licensor grants the Licensee a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable (except under section 7) licence to use, copy, modify, adapt, and combine the asset ("Asset") in an unlimited number of personal and commercial projects, including games, software, apps, websites, videos, streams, animations, prints and other media ("Projects").

3. Distribution in Projects. The Licensee may distribute and sell Projects that incorporate the Asset, in original or modified form, to any number of end users, provided the Asset is incorporated into the Project and is not made available as a standalone file that end users can easily extract and reuse. Ordinary packaging, compression or encryption used by game engines and applications is sufficient. Open-source Projects may include the Asset if the Project's licence or documentation makes clear that the Asset is not covered by the open-source licence and may not be reused outside the Project.

4. Restrictions. The Licensee may not:

  • (a) resell, sublicense, share, give away or redistribute the Asset's raw or source files, alone or as part of an asset pack, template, library, kit, or other collection of assets, whether free or paid, even if modified;
  • (b) make the Asset available for others to download as an asset, including through marketplaces, file sharing or public repositories (other than as permitted in section 3);
  • (c) use the Asset as part of a trademark, logo, or brand identity, or register any rights in it;
  • (d) claim to be the creator of the Asset, or remove the Licensor's notices from the source files.

5. Credit. Credit to the Licensor is appreciated but not required. If given, a suggested form is: "[Asset name] by [Licensor] (oddshelf.io)".

6. Ownership. The Licensor keeps all copyright and other rights in the Asset. This licence does not transfer ownership. Projects the Licensee creates belong to the Licensee, except for the Asset itself.

7. Termination. This licence ends automatically if the Licensee materially breaches it and does not fix the breach within 30 days of becoming aware of it. Copies of Projects already distributed to end users before termination remain licensed to those end users.

8. Third-party rights. The Licensor confirms that they have the right to grant this licence. If the Asset depicts real people, places, trademarks or products, the Licensee is responsible for any additional permissions needed for their particular use (for example trademark or personality rights).

9. No warranty. To the extent the law allows, the Asset is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The Licensor's liability is limited to the price paid for the Asset, except where the law does not allow such a limit. Consumer rights under mandatory law are not affected.

10. Licence version. The Licensee's copy is licensed under the version of the licence shown on the product page at the time of purchase or claim. Later changes by the Licensor do not reduce rights already granted.

11. Oddshelf. TheMeanOne Developments, the operator of Oddshelf, is not a party to this licence and provides this text as a template.

13. Moderation of your Products

13.1 We may review your Listings and files at any time, and may remove, hide, restrict, re-rate or decline to feature them if they break this Agreement, the Terms, the Guidelines or the law.

13.2 We will give you a statement of reasons for any removal or restriction (as described in the Terms) and you may appeal by emailing [email protected] within 6 months.

13.3 Copyright complaints are handled under the Copyright & DMCA Policy, including counter-notices and the repeat-infringer policy (three valid strikes lead to termination).

13.4 Mods. You must follow the rules the game's maker publishes for mods of their game. We may take a mod down if that game's maker sends us a valid complaint, for example a copyright notice or a breach of their published mod rules, and we will tell you why.

14. Your warranties and indemnity

14.1 You warrant that the promises in sections 6 and 7 are true for every Product and Listing, now and while it remains on Oddshelf.

14.2 You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Oddshelf and TheMeanOne Developments, and their owners, staff and contractors, from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, fines, taxes, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: your Products or Listings; your sales, including taxes and consumer obligations; your relationship with buyers or PayPal; your breach of this Agreement or the Terms; or your infringement of anyone's rights. We will notify you promptly of any claim, you may control the defence with counsel reasonably acceptable to us, and you may not settle a claim that imposes obligations on us without our consent.

15. Suspension, termination and leaving

15.1 You can stop at any time by delisting your Products, cancelling any plan, and/or deleting your Account.

15.2 We may suspend or terminate your selling privileges or Account, after notice where practical, for serious or repeated breaches, misleading Listings, fraud, malware, infringement (including three valid copyright strikes), legal requirements, or risk to users.

15.3 What happens after. When your Account is deleted or terminated: your Listings are delisted; your personal data is erased as described in the Privacy Policy; buyers keep access to what they bought under section 10; and anonymised purchase records are kept where tax and accounting law requires. Unused prepaid plan time is not refunded if termination is for your breach, unless the law requires otherwise.

15.4 Sections 4, 5.3, 5.5, 10, 11 (for delivery to buyers), 12 (for licences already granted), 14 and 16 survive termination.

16. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

16.1 Oddshelf does not guarantee any level of sales, visibility, traffic or income, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

16.2 The disclaimers, limitation of liability (the greater of US$100 or the amounts you paid to Oddshelf in the 12 months before the claim), governing law, courts (no arbitration) and class action waiver in the Terms of Service apply to this Agreement.

17. Changes and contact

17.1 We may update this Agreement. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and on the Service. Changes do not affect sales already made or licences already granted. If you do not agree, you may delist your Products and stop selling before the change takes effect.

17.2 Contact: [email protected] for Creator support; [email protected] for legal notices; post: TheMeanOne Developments, [Postal address to be added].
